The Kilómetro Vertical Puerto del Alacrán celebrates its third edition on April 25, 2026, in Casavieja, Ávila. Organized by Club Deportivo Calamochos Casavieja in collaboration with the Spanish Federation of Mountain and Climbing Sports (FEDME) and the Federation of Mountain, Climbing and Hiking Sports of Castilla y León (FDMESCYL), this event is the Spanish Individual and Regional Teams Kilómetro Vertical Championship, as well as the third race of the FEDME Spanish KV Cup and the first race of the Castilla y León KV Cup.

The race takes place in a stunning natural setting in the Tiétar Valley, with start and finish at Fuente Helecha. The main course for absolute and promise categories is 5.4 km timed with 960 m positive elevation gain, totaling 7.7 km including the neutralized section. There are also categories for juvenile, junior, cadet, and infant, plus a competitive Short Trail, a non-competitive Walking March, and a Promo Trail for children.

The event features clear signage, mandatory checkpoints, and liquid and solid aid stations. The KV category has a maximum time of 2h10min for the timed section plus 1h20min to return to the neutralized start.
