The iconic S. Silvestre Race returns for its 13th edition on December 26, 2026, organized by the Municipality of Viana do Castelo in partnership with XLife Events, Lda. This popular event features a 10 km running race and a 5 km walk, both starting and finishing at Avenida dos Combatentes da Grande Guerra.

The race route crosses several city streets in a continuous loop, challenging athletes of all ages and levels. The walk offers a relaxed opportunity to enjoy the urban atmosphere and company of fellow participants.

• Race – 10 km · Start 18:30 · Cutoff 2h · Categories from Sub 23 to Veterans VI, male and female
• Walk – 5 km · Start 18:00 · Non-timed participation

⏰ Schedule

• December 23: 15:00-21:00 – Registration desk at the Cultural Center of Viana do Castelo
• December 26: 10:00-17:00 – Registration desk
• December 26: 18:00 – Walk start
• December 26: 18:30 – Race start

🎽 Registration includes Bib number, sports insurance, solid and liquid refreshments, participation kit with T-shirt and optional sweatshirt (depending on registration phase), and gifts.

🏆 Prizes Cash prizes for the top 5 overall male and female finishers, trophies for category winners, prizes for the top 3 teams, trophy for the largest team, and souvenirs for all finishers. A €500 raffle among participants present at the awards ceremony.
