The Alberto Batista International Athletics Grand Prix is a vibrant tribute to former athlete and coach Alberto Batista, organized by the Social Services of São João da Madeira Municipality. Now in its 29th edition, this event is one of the city's most iconic and open to athletes of all ages and categories.

The race takes place on October 10, 2026, starting at 17:00 in São João da Madeira. Co-organized by the local City Hall, it ensures excellent organization.

Distances vary by category, from 650 meters for the youngest to 10 km for juniors, seniors, and veterans. The races occur in an urban setting with start and finish in central city locations, offering a challenge for all participants.
