São Silvestre de Ponta Delgada

🏃 The iconic 62nd São Silvestre of Ponta Delgada returns on December 12, 2026, organized by the Associação de Atletismo de S. Miguel. This is one of the most traditional year-end races in the Azores, bringing together federated and amateur athletes to celebrate sport and the local community.

The event features three routes: a 1.3 km Mini Race for younger and adapted categories, the Main Race of 6.2 km for other categories, and a 4 km Walk open to all participants seeking a more relaxed experience. The course runs through the streets of Ponta Delgada, fully closed to traffic, ensuring safety and a competitive, lively atmosphere.

An ambulance will accompany the race for immediate assistance, and all athletes are recommended to undergo a medical exam beforehand. The event follows World Athletics regulations and includes photo and video coverage.
