What is the event schedule?

The race office opens on August 7 from 17:00 to 20:00 and on race day from 6:45. Starts begin at 08:00 and run until 10:30.

Registration is mandatory online until July 31, 2026, with payment by Visa card or Multibanco reference.

Where is the race held?

The race takes place in Sabugal, with start and finish near Aldeia do Bispo's main church.

What equipment is mandatory?

Visible bib, liquid container, mobile phone, thermal blanket, whistle, bandage, and waterproof jacket are mandatory for all races.

About the Event

🚵‍♂️ Trail da Raia 2026

Trail da Raia is a unique cross-border event inviting you to explore the historic smuggler trails between Portugal and Spain in an unforgettable sporting and cultural experience. Held in Sabugal, this eco-friendly event promotes nature contact and environmental preservation.

Organized by Raiar - Associação de Aldeia do Bispo and local partners, this edition features four competitive races (Ultra, Long, Short, and Mini Trail) plus initiation routes like Walking and Trail Kids.

The routes run through rural paths and natural trails in the Gata, Malvana, and Mesas mountains, averaging 1000 meters altitude with significant elevation changes, offering a technical and scenic challenge. Start and finish are near Aldeia do Bispo’s main church, with careful signage and control and refreshment points every 2.5 km.

- 07:30 – mandatory gear check and briefing Ultra and Long Trail
- 08:00 – start Ultra and Long Trail
- 08:05 – briefing Short Trail, Mini Trail and Walking
- 08:15 – start Short Trail, Mini Trail and Walking
- 10:30 – start Trail Kids
- 13:00 – lunch at pavilion
- 14:30 – awards ceremony

🎽 Registration includes Allianz sports insurance, chip bib, liquid and solid refreshments, technical t-shirt (for Short Trail, Mini Trail and Walking registered by 20/07), lunch, finisher medal, recovery massage, cold showers, and free pool access.

🏆 Prizes Trophies for top 3 overall and each male/female age category (U23, Senior, 40, 50, 60+). Team classification (min. 3 members) also awarded.

🏅 Circuit Independent event with strong cultural and environmental focus, promoting connection between border communities.
