About the Event
🚩 The iconic Joaquim Bernardo de Sousa Lobo Sea Swimming Race takes place on June 21, 2026, in Nazaré, organized by Associação Nazaré Marés de Maio. Founded in 1958, this is one of Portugal's oldest open water swimming events, honoring a key figure of the local fishing community.
The out-and-back course is approximately 1.8 km, starting and finishing on Nazaré beach, passing over the famous Nazaré Canyon. The race is held in open water, facing natural ocean conditions such as currents and waves.

🎽 Registration includes Numbered yellow cap, timing chip, sports insurance, medical assistance, and support along the course.
🏆 Prizes Trophies for the top 3 overall individual finishers, top 3 teams, and top 3 in each category and gender. Special prizes may also be awarded.
